“building from the ground with my own two hands”

“It’s Visceral, Gritty, it’s harsh and it’s real.”

Hailing from the high plains of Southeastern Colorado, Kellen Goode is a singer/songwriter who draws inspiration from, and cultivates his work in the rural communities that shaped him as a young man.  Early influences from 90’s country icons like Dwight Yoakam combined with a love for abrasive punk and the emo wave of the early 2000’s resonate in his work.  Time working in Wyoming for oil and gas companies after becoming a father provided a unique perspective of the working class in America and the hardships facing the collective.  It’s also where he adjusted to life as a single father of three, stopped drinking and began working on his current catalogue of songs.  Exposure to Tyler Childers’s “Purgatory” in 2019 caused a subsequent dive and feeling of belonging in the alternative country genres.  Kellen pairs the feelings  experienced when deeply looking inward with an eccentric optimism to create relatable works which convey emotion and tell stories of life experiences.
